Tot School

~Smiley is currently 16 months old~

Tot School

We had a lot of fun with our Little People Zoo this week. I usually ask Smiley "Where is the lion", "Where is the monkey" etc. He's really good now at identifying his animals and can even say their names.

Opening and closing things is still popular around here. Smiley particularly likes to close water bottles. He also enjoys drinking from them, just like mommy does it ;)

Sticking pipe cleaners in a vase/pitcher.

One of Smiley's favorite things to do this month has been climbing stairs. Whenever he sees stairs he now has to climb them on his own. He's gotten really good at it, but daddy still prefers to be right behind him, just in case...

We had a great time at our local Kidspace Museum. It is free every first tuesday of the month and we have visited it since Smiley was about 10 months old. It's great fun. Smiley particularly enjoyed the cool water area they have in the nice garden. Next time we will have to bring swim shorts and water shoes :)

Inside the Kidspace Museum they had many more fun activities for Smiley. Here he discovered daddy's hand.

Painting this fun leaf with daddy.

Here he is making his first water color painting with mommy. Of course he tried to lick the brush a couple of times, but mommy was able to stop him just in time ;)

Smiley loves his pegs. He particularly enjoys building peg towers.

Smiley still LOVES the screwdriver. Here he is screwing on one of his toys, like daddy does it when he changes the batteries. He spent a good hour walking around our house and "fixing" one toy after another.

This is one of Smiley's variations on the peg board. He is sticking the pipe cleaners into the pegs :)

Mega Blocks are still a big hit with Smiley. He enjoys building towers of all shapes and sizes :)

  3. Valerie,
Sorry, the Kidspace Museum we're going to is in the LA area. So, no, not really close to Kansas, lol.

    Terra,
Yes, Smiley loves all his little people toys. We have the airplane and the school bus. He plays with one of these nearly every day :) Definitely a great investment!

  4. RockerTot loves his Little People airplane. It's the only one he has, but it gets plenty of mileage. Your tot is so cute! I love all the activities you do with him. He is so lucky to have you. Thanks for sharing!

  5. It's nice to meet you and Smiley. I was maintaining the blog for my daughter since she was born, and it's pretty interesting to look back and to see the progress she has made. I'll come back for more reading :)
