~Our Lil' Lovebug is currently 12 months old~
RRSP...We covered Letter F of our RRSP curriculum this week. Smiley continues to do well with his writing skills. Here are a few shots I took this week...
We didn't make a foam letter this week, because we already did a F is for Fish when we covered the letter F a few months ago...
Lil' Bug...Our little bug is now officially participating in tot school as well, although she really has been part of it for a very long time already... Most of the time, she just takes part in what I am working on with Smiley. I always try to have something similar to do for her that is adjusted to her abilities. Here are some things that she did by herself though...
She got a doll for her birthday and is in love with it :)
She spent much time playing with this cute bunny...The shape sorter is a big hit right now. Taking things out and putting them back in are one of her favorite things to do right now :)
Fine Motor Skills...
Both kids played again with this shape sorter that I made for them last week. I am so impressed by how well our little bug already handles these small shapes. She was able to put quite a few shapes into the holes :)
Stickers are another fine motor activity both kids worked on this week.
I made a new fine motor activity for the kids this week. I made a slit in another oatmeal container and gave them popsicle sticks to slide in. Both kids really enjoyed this.
When the little one was napping, we took out our buttons and Smiley put the buttons into the slit. He loved this and played for a very long time :)
The little one got this pig for her birthday last week and Smiley very much likes playing with it as well. We made the activity a little more challenging by having him use tongs to insert the coins in the piggy bank :)
Transfering our big pom poms with tongs...
I brought out our trivial pursuit game again this week. We hadn't played with this in a while. Smiley's skills have improved dramatically since we last played this. He was able to insert the little triangles with ease this time around. He really enjoyed playing this :)
And then, he used little tongs to transfer the pieces into a car! His idea :)
Gross Motor Skills...
The little bug LOVES going through our IKEA tunnel right now. It's a big hit! And also was with Smiley when he was the same age :)
Our little one keeps going into this position. Looks like a yoga pose. All of my husband's aunts insist that in the Filipino culture this means that she wants to have a younger sibling. Of course...
My baby took her first steps this week :) She's growing up SO fast!!!
Learning Toys...
We started our fall theme this week. Carisa posted this fun fall craft earlier this week and we just had to do it as well :) Smiley was VERY into it!!
and this is our lil' ones...
Art...
A few additional art projects we did over the week...
Smiley is really into making circles apparently...
He made this dot painting for his auntie who just got engaged :) It's a flower :)
Fun...
Despite it being fall, we had an EXTREMELY hot week here. We did lots and lots of water play over the course of the week...
And fitting to our topic from last week, we saw an Iguana (at least that's what I think this animal is, lol). Good thing we made an I is for Iguana :)
Love the photo of Lil'Bug and her doll! You definitely captured her love for it.
ReplyDeleteI needed to take notes this week. Lots of fun fine motor activities. I have an almost empty oatmeal container. I guess I need to make cookies or something so we can put it to good use.
ReplyDeleteFun week! I love the idea of using the trivial pursuit game :)
ReplyDeleteLove those handprint trees!!!
