Language...We took a break from our foam letters these past two weeks, but we continued to do several language activities. Smiley has started putting some simple letters together, particularly -at. So, I wrote down a couple of words for him that end in -at. One step closer to reading :)
We played with those letter cards to work on beginning sounds. Smiley searched for the beginning letter of several pictures...
We colored a Gg worksheet.
We used this "I spy" book to found different things hidden on a page.
We worked on the concept "in the middle". He knew what this meant, so this was more of a review...
We then worked on "on the bottom", which was a new concept for him. He grasped it really quickly, especially when I explained that it is similar to "down".
We counted out his raisins with the corresponding numbers... (and yes, I really need to vacuum his carpet. Just trying to keep things real ;-) ).
We lined up the numbers 0-20.
We lined up the numbers 0-20.
We did a lot of fine motor activities these past couple of weeks, such as building towers...
Lacing beads...
Working with pegs...

on two different days ;)
We have trouble with lacing at my house. Playdough is really big with my son right now.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun week!!!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe he's almost reading. What a smart little guy!!!
I really like the pasta/funnel/bottle idea - I will definitely have to use that! Your little man seems really advanced - I love all your activities! :)
ReplyDeleteI think vacuuming is the chore that is the hardest to find a time to do it - not that it takes that long, but finding a time when all children are awake and happy on their own while I vacuum is annoying - my Hubby took the kids this morning for an hour so I could relax, and the first thing I did was vacuum. :) Pathetic, right? :)
Carrie- lol, I totally agree. Plus, Smiley is TERRIFIED of the vacuum. (I think it's just too loud for him). However, that makes it really difficult to find a time to vacuum his room, lol. Gotta do it next time daddy takes them to the park (I hate to admit that I still haven't gotten around to it).
ReplyDeleteso much fun!!! In regards to helping with making words, we love word world and leap frog word factory. We've also started hooked on phonics as well. :)
